DUTIES:
• Under direction, the Chief Investigator manages an Investigative team in the Inspector General’s Office.

Purpose:
Under limited direction applies advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents.
Positions Reporting to this Function: None

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assigns and monitors work and assists with training of technicians and installers.
2. Diagnoses and corrects the most complex systems and equipment problems.
3. Assists in establishing procedures.
4. Performs direct and general support (DS/GS) level maintenance and repair on special electronic devices, including: night vision equipment, mine detectors, scattering systems, electronic distance and azimuth orienting devices.
5. Performs test, measurements, and diagnosis equipment to determine the cause and location of malfunctions, extend of faults, and category of maintenance required.
6. Repairs systems, equipment and subassemblies by adjusting, aligning, repairing and replacing defective components.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education:
High School graduate or equivalent required. Must have a security clearance prior to employment.

Experience:
a. 3-4 years experience in the Electronic Maintenance Field.
b. Must have extensive experience with TMDE, to include ANIGRM-122, NVG test set, multimeters, oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers
c. US Military School-trained in MOS 35/94E or 94F. Experience with Night Vision/Thermal devices, Blue Force Tracker, NBC equipment, and vehicle communication installations.

Specialized knowledge and skills:
a) Must be able to navigate through and understand the use of complex Army technical manuals.
b) Must be able to use test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE), i.e. AN/GRM-122 Radio Test Set, to determine the cause and location of malfunctions, extent of faults and the level of maintenance required
c) Electronic principles, Use and maintenance of electrical and electronic test equipment, Equipment repair, practice in repairing and replacing equipment parts and basic Soldiering skills.

AC FIRST PREQ02911: Fire Control Systems Repairer

Purpose:
Under general direction, troubleshoots repairs, cleans, calibrates, modifies and inspects optical, electronic and mechanical fire control instruments. Also, performs unit, direct support and general support electronic maintenance on the Base Shop Test Facility (BSTS) AN/TSM -191 and Line Replacement Units (LRU), Shop Replacement Units (SRU) and Test Program Sets (TPS).
Positions Reporting to this Function: None

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Repairs and/or modifies mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems and assembles systems, such as elevating, traversing, recoil, rammer and firing systems, breeches, gun tube and cannon tubes, pumps, cupolas, shields and their related components.
2. Troubleshoots repairs, cleans, calibrates, modifies and inspects optical, electronic and mechanical fire control instruments including those mounted on self-propelled artillery and tank turrets, and line replaceable units utilized on M1 and M2/3 combat vehicles.
3. Installs supported weapon system test program sets, initiates Unit Under Test (UTT) procedures, isolates UUT/BSTF pronged circuit board or component alignments and adjustments in accordance with applicable technical publications. Performs initial and final inspections on related equipment.
4. Performs BSTF preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) and operational checks. Installs BSTF equipment modifications, prepares maintenance and supply forms and records, and provides technical assistance for corrective maintenance procedures. Recommends procedures for receipts, storage, inspection testing and repair of BSTF and Line replacement Units.
5. Tests mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
6. Diagnoses faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, reassembles and adjusts turret components using diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
7. Dismantles and reassembles heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
8. Cleans, lubricates, and performs other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
9. Performs corrective maintenance on previously diagnosed malfunctions on fire control systems used in combat vehicles, off-carriage lasers, designators, thermal sights, and night vision equipment.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education:
a) High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or Technical diploma preferred.
b) (Fire Control) Graduate of US Army Ordnance Center and School Fire Control Repairer course (MOS 45G) or equivalent desired.
c) ETT or CETa certification desirable.
d) Must have Security Clearance prior to employment
Experience:
a) Approximately three (3) year’s experience in a direct and general support electronic maintenance required.
b) Training in Fire Control instrument repair desired.
Specialized knowledge and skills:

    Duties:

    Coordinate and interact with senior PM leaders and technical experts from outside organizations such as offices of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Staff, the Combatant Commanders, other Services and Agencies of the DOD, and national intelligence agencies.
    Establish the framework and devises the roadmap for the PM to form and foster extensive corporate partnerships with industry to enable developers to rapidly produce capabilities and bring “best of breed” solutions to the warfighter.
    Analyze all forms of Signals Development/Target Development/Information Operations.
    Develop an in-depth knowledge of the operational relationships of the various intelligence disciplines in order to prepare/present/coordinate requirements with national level agencies.
    Draft, Review and coordinate for signature memorandums of understanding and/or agreements (MOU/MOAs) to and with external agencies as appropriate.
